Is pregnancy massage safe?

Pregnancy massage is safe and available to mum2be once they have had their 12 week scan. You can receive treatement for as long as you want.  Certain conditions may mean that you are not able to receive a pregnancy massage so please check with your doctor or midwife before receivng treatment. But if your pregnancy is straight forward and there are no complications there is no reason why you can enjoy and benfit from a pregnancy masage. A health screening form is completed before the treatment.

I have heard I should lie on my back from 16 weeks, how can I have a pregnancy massage?

The whole treatment is done lying on your side. Towels, cusions and bolsters are used to supoort you and your bump so that you can fully relax.

Postnatal Massage

Regular massage during the postnatal period is very beneficial to all new mums.

Postnatal massage can help with physical discomforts such as lower backache, postural discomfort and reduce stress levels. Advice is given regarding posture to help minimise aches and discomfort during day to day life.   A little bit of you time, helping you relax and helping you be the best mum you can be.

Home visits are available. Massages can be preformed in either a side lying position or on a a special massage chair.

Testimonial

I am 20 weeks pregnant and recently had a massage from Natasha which I totally enjoyed.  Natasha was gentle but effective and always made sure I was in a comfortable position as she worked over my body.  Afterwards I felt relaxed and refreshed.
Emma, May 2010
