A 3 hour course designed for women in the early stages of pregnancy to educate them about healthy eating for both mum and bump, lifestyle changes and suitable exercise for the whole 9 months and beyond.
The course will include:
The changes that happen to body during pregnancy
Nutritional requirements for the growing baby and mother – including how more energy is required and the increased need for certain micronutrients.
Foods which are unsafe to consume during pregnancy
Foods which can help reduce and ease pregnancy complaints such as constipation, anaemia and sickness
Lifestyle advice about day to day activity, changes to posture and exercise recommendations, do’s and don’ts.
Practical session to learn exercises to strengthen abdominal muscles and pelvic floor muscles suitable to do during the whole of pregnancy and after at home .
Brief introduction to postnatal nutrition, the importance of looking after yourself once baby arrives and strategies to help.
